Creamy Mushroom Pasta Ingredients

A few simple ingredients come together to make this amazing pasta.

Best of all, this recipe can be adjusted in so many ways. While I used portobello for this recipe, you can adapt this recipe to use whatever type of mushrooms you prefer, or even mix different types together.

Additionally, you could easily switch out the pappardelle pasta for a different pasta if you prefer. Add you favorite veggie like spinach or make the recipe as is. Either way, you will not be disappointed.

How to Make Creamy Mushroom Pasta

To start, cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the starchy pasta water and drain the pasta.

Next, heat oil and butter in a a saucepan over medium high heat. Toss in onions and cook for about 2 minutes.

Add mushrooms, salt, pepper, and garlic. Cook for 8-10 minutes, tossing continually.

Lower the heat and stir in the parmesan, cream, and 1/4 cup of the reserved pasta water. Taste and season to your liking.

Use tongs to toss the pasta, cheese, and mushrooms.

Finally, top with chopped parsley and parmesan, and serve while hot.

  • 1 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 16 0z pappardelle pasta
